Weapons of the Gods Reviews

The first reviews are trickling in. I'm probably going to update this post with the ones I find for a little bit:

"Over the course of reading over it today, over half a dozen times, I found myself murmuring, 'Ooo, that's clever!' Also a lot of the stories are as if the translation of Journey to the West by Arthur Waley and Hitherby Dragons had a beautiful lovechild."
- Random Nerd (sic), rpg.net, as quoted by his wife.

MANA-YOOD-SUSHAI.

We would be playing at the game of grades and popularity until MANA wandered up to rebuke us, saying, "What do ye playing with the grades and popularity?"

It is a very serious thing that one has grades and popularity, and yet most withering is the laughter of MANA-YOOD-SUSHAI.

Then he would say, "Prayest thou to me now? Prayest thou to me now?"

And all the while his target would genuflect, helplessly, driven by the will of MANA-YOOD-SUSHAI.

But never dared a student answer, "Yes," for none may pray to MANA-YOOD-SUSHAI; and if one did, then instantly we saw him not, nor were they ever seen again of students, who had dared in impudence to pray to MANA-YOOD-SUSHAI.

Then later we met with him at the reunion, and asked him what he was doing, for we knew that MANA-YOOD-SUSHAI now worked for Microsoft developing new software, and bitterly said MANA-YOOD-SUSHAI, "I am playing with the written evaluations and politics."

And most withering was our laughter until those we called our colleagues were never seen again; and then, we said, "Forgiveness! Forgiveness!" and bought Microsoft software in great supply.
